The Opera Square Festival in Frankfurt has grown into a popular summer festival. Originally devised as an event focusing on the then newly built Lucae Fountain, the square in front of the Old Opera is now transformed into a festival plaza. Visitors come together under white sunshades to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or international specialities in a convivial ambiance. Musical entertainment is provided by well-known acts playing the different stages. The opera building is illuminated in the evening hours, which makes for a particularly atmospheric mood.
